Student Travel Insurance by Reliance General
Studying abroad is an exciting prospect. There will be new places to explore, opportunities to meet people from around the world.
Only students pursuing academic courses abroad, with a minimum age of 16 years and a maximum age of 35 years will be issued a Student Travel Policy.Click here to view the detailed table of above mentioned coverage.
What does the policy cover?
We’ve tried to ‘pack in’ maximum coverage for a variety of situations while you’re traveling, alone or with your family with our student travel insurance. Have a look!
– Accidental bodily injury during the trip
– Acute anesthetic treatment of teeth due to an injury
– Emergency expenses made for medical evacuation to India
– Total loss of your checked-in baggage by a common carrier
– Cost of obtaining a fresh or duplicate passport in case of a lost passport
– Reimbursement of tuition fees, in case the sponsor paying your fee passes away due to an injury
– Emergency medical expenses incurred by you whilst abroad, for any sudden illness, injury or death
– Reimbursement of current (paid) semester fee, if your education is interrupted due to a medical condition
– Compensation for death or permanent disability due to an accident, while riding as a passenger in a common carrier
– Reimbursement of return ticket fare for a family member visiting you, the insured, if you’re hospitalized for more than 7
– Expenses incurred while transporting the insured’s mortal remains back home or towards burial abroad in case of an untimely demise
– Payment of bail amount to the appropriate authority, if you’re arrested or detained by any judicial authorities for a bailable offense, while abroad
What does the policy not cover?
Like you have some questions that are out-of-syllabus, a student insurance policy also has situations that are out-of-scope. Here’s a list of things your student travel insurance policy won’t cover!
– War or nuclear threat in the country where you’re traveling
– Loss of checked baggage – no partial loss or damage shall become payable
– Claims arising out of non – disclosed and non-declared pre-existing medical conditions will not be covered
– Issues faced due to theft or loss of passport when left unattended, or unreported to local police authorities
– Expenses incurred if you are-
1. Traveling against the advice of a physician
2. Receiving or are on a waiting list for specified medical treatment
3. Traveling to receive treatment abroad
4. Have been given terminal prognosis for a medical condition
– Expenses incurred due to any of the following conditions:
1. Suicide self-inflicted injuries or illnesses
2. Mental disorder
3. Anxiety, stress or depression
4. Venereal diseases
5. Alcohol/drug abuse
6. HIV/AIDS
Life threatening conditions covered only arising out of disclosed pre-existing diseases, which are mentioned in the policy schedule, for people up to 70 years of age. Customers need to declare all pre-existing diseases while taking the policy
