Min Hourly Rate-  $13.50 (Standard); $12.50 (Non-Urban); $14.75 (Portland Metro)

Max Hourly Rate- $20.40 (Standard); $19.90 (Non-Urban); $20.90 (Portland Metro)

Position Summary-

This recruitment will be used to fill six part-time (a maximum of 20 hours per week) Crop and Soil Science Assistant position for the Crop & Soil Science department at Oregon State University (OSU).

This position supports special projects in the department of Crop and Soil Science. Current project is building lab kits for CSS 205 e-campus course.

Position Duties-   

Labeling and assembling small bags of soil and sand

Taping small cardboard boxes together and placing stickers on boxes

Follow inventory list to place the needed lab items into the kit box and seal box

Additional Required Qualifications-

Ability to follow written instructions and exactly follow direction provided by supervisor

Great attention to detail and organization skills

Ability to work as a team member

Ability to work in a warehouse type environment (no AC, some dust and dirt in the air)

Ability to stand, twist, turn, bend, carry and lift 10 lbs

Preferred (Special) Qualifications-

Experience or interest working in agriculture and soil science

Working Conditions / Work Schedule-

The student worker may be required to work up to an approximate 20 hours per week
